Shanxi is the best choice for history-hunting travelers. You can find enormous old buildings, sculptures, paintings, frescos there. In the old days, the locals in Shanxi were good at business. After earning a lot of money, they liked to build huge houses in countryside. So, today, there are still many old huge forbidden houses in Shanxi, which have been shown in some Chinese movies.

       In the west boundary of Shanxi, there is a famous waterfall Hukou on the River Huang (Huang means Yellow in Chinese). Hukou is the narrowest part of the yellow river. So, the waterfall containing large amount of yellow mud and sand is unforgettable.
