Qinghai (a province in the northwest of China)
Qinghai is named after Qinghai Lake, which means “blue sea” in Chinese. Qinghai Lake is the biggest saltwater lake in China and it is really blue and crystal clear surrounded by grassland with large amount of sheep and cattle. In Qinghai, there are a few of large salt lakes. In those area, the road, even the airport was made of salt. While traveling in Qinghai, impressed me most is the Chaidamu Basin in the west of the province. It is spacious, isolated, lonely, no life, no sound expect for the wind and yourself, a feeling on the moon, a feeling of desperation. |
